As infants, children learn the basics of human interaction, including how to communicate with others, regulate their emotions, and generally make sense of the world. It is essential that an infant care program, such as JP Kids, provide children with nurture, comfort, and appropriate interaction with adults and other babies and children, along with fun and active play. Quality early care also needs to meet the child at his or her level with attention to safety, health, and language development.

Infants learn by experimenting and interacting with their world. Low, open, uncluttered shelves with clean, high-quality toys invite children to play and explore. Toys are rotated on a regular basis so that the children never grow tired of them.
Exposure to music is a very important part of a child’s cognitive development. The infants’ lesson plans include singing songs every day, plus a wide variety of music that is used to create a rich soundscape as a background for different activities during the day.

The schedule and space at JP Kids & Company is structured to allow children to pace themselves and select activities based on their individual needs. Knowledge is not given to children; they learn through playful and meaningful interactions with materials and trusted adults. This means that each child processes experiences uniquely. Teachers adapt and plan curriculum in response to this dynamic character of learning for young children.
PHYSICAL PLAY FOR INFANTS
Physical play is essential to early learning. Our beautiful large outdoor play space in the woods provides opportunities for age-appropriate physical play that releases the energies of the day. Children love our outdoor play area, shaded by trees and dappled with sun. There is also space for older kids to kick a ball or play in small or large groups.
INVITING CLASSROOMS FOR BABIES
Classrooms are set up specifically to encourage exploration and learning. Each classroom is prepared with great care and attention to detail. Setting up the classroom is integral to each child’s independence and intellectual development and provides an environment that excites them to explore and develop new skills.
KEEPING PARENTS CONNECTED WITH THEIR INFANTS
Parents’ involvement in an infant's care and development is important. We work closely with parents to develop individualized care plans for each child, and provide constant communication via our BrightWheel app. The parents’ group at JP Kids is one of the great benefits families love. Some daycares don’t want to hear suggestions and input from parents but we welcome it! The parent group is an actively engaged community that allows you to get to know others in your child’s community, as well as give any input to the school!
